Anna, Joellen & Janie  are experts at helping patients understand their insurance and setting up payment options when necessary. They are tops in their field when scheduling appointments to fit into everyone's busy schedules.

The doctor's certified assistants, Carly ,Reanna, Tonia, Brittany and Jennifer are excited about the beautiful smiles they can help the doctors create for you. They are highly trained in the latest technologies and dedicated to giving each patient personal care and attention.

Our hygienists, Sherri,Sheila, Sandy & Brynn are the BEST! Just ask any of their patients. They are skilled periodontal therapists and are committed to keeping all your teeth for the rest of your life. They practice anti-infective periodontal therapy using phase contrast microscopy and local or systemic administration of antimicrobials. Only a few practices in the region offer this non-sugical diagnostic approach. We pride ourselves on staying on the cutting edge of modern dentistry and patient communication. Anna Carrigan/OfficeManager

Anna has been working in the dental profession for more than 30 years.  Her love of the dental profession began when (after many years of holding her hand over her mouth) a very special dentist gave her the smile she had always longed for.  She knows the difference a smile can make.  Helping others realize that dream is how she spends her day.  Anna's time out of the office is spent with her husband Tom.   They have 3 children and 3 grandchildren and spend as much time as possible with them.  While Tom is playing golf, Anna enjoys doing pottery, making teddy bears and eating chocolate!

JOELLEN DEBOY /MARKETING Joellen has been in the field of dentistry for many years and has been with Drs. Murphy and Welzel since 2004. She brings an extensive knowledge of outstanding patient care practices and enjoys implementing ideas and protocols that make the patient experience here truly outstanding. In her free time, Joellen enjoys cooking, gardening, travel and just spending time with her wonderful family--husband, David and children Alison, Blake & Brett.

Sherri Feldman, RDH, BS
Sherri has been a practicing dental hygienist/periodontal therapist for 22 years.  She graduated in 1984 from CCB where she earned an AA Degree in Dental Hygiene and then furthered her education the the University of Maryland Dental School.  She earned her BSDH degree in 1985 and has been working with Dr. Murphy since January 1999.  She is married to A.J. Feldman and has 2 daughters--Hannah (9 1/2) and  Molly (8)  They have lived in Owings Mills for the past 13 years.  Sherri enjoys reading, gardening, running, biking & cooking.  She recently completed her first triathlon this past summer and loved the experience.  She looks forward to completing more in the future!

SHEILA WYATT, RDH ,BS

Sheila has over 20 years of clincial hygiene experience.  She graduated from Morgan State University in 1981 with a degree in biology and went towork for the UMAB as a Research Assistant in a biochemistry lab.  She decided to return to school after a year to pursue a career in Dental Hygiene.  She graduated from Columbia University in 1984 with a BS in Dental Hygiene.  Sheila says that she really likes hygiene because it gives her an opportunity to be a change agent.  She wants to help people better their overall health by educating them on the importance of good dental health.  Sheila lives in Baltimore County with her husband, Grant, and their cat Kitty.  She has a grown son who lives in Atlanta, Georgia.

Sandy Sheffler, RDH
Sandy graduated from the Community College of Baltimore in 1973.  After her dentist employer of 26 years retired, Sandy wondered if she would ever find a dental office that would make her as happy as her previous one.  In September 2004, Sandy found Drs. Murphy & Welzel.  She came to our office because we utilize a Phase Contrast Microscope, the same one she had used in her former practice.  For 16 years she had helped patients manage their periodontal infections with the use of a microscope and her goal was to continue this owrk.  At the time, Sandy had written an article that she was wating to have published by a national dental hygiene magazine.  The topic was based on her work with the microscope.  The first article was published in October 2004 and the second in March 2006.  In addition to having microscope, there is also other high-tech equipment that has allowed Sandy to video the microorganisms and display them on Power Points.   In April 2006 Sandy and her colleague, Sherri, gave a course to hygienists and dentists, teaching them how to use a microscope and why this is so important.   It is Sandy's aim to help her patients get healthy and stay healthy.  She is extremely happy working with Drs. Murphy and Welzel and their team.  Sandy and her husgband, David, live in Towson with David's mother and dog, Bebe.  Sandy has a grown son, Mark, and two stepsons, Brad and Chris.  She enjoys all kinds of crafts and plays bridge on a regular basis.
